Do you ever find yourself going to bed on Sunday thinking, I wish I didn’t have to go to work tomorrow?
My guess is that you answered, “Yes!”
Make A List
It’s never too early to start thinking about what you want to do on your free time. Whether your free time is Friday night through Sunday night or Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon.
The point is, if you start making a list of the things you want to accomplish that will make you feel more fulfilled when the weekend is over, you’ll be more likely to do it.
The Secret is Creating the List!
– Get Organized with the necessities.
This is time that I take to sort, pay, and file the bills, do laundry, clean the house, get my car washed, go to the grocery store, prep the food, etc. All the stuff that takes time that is not appealing to do when you get home from work.
– Do some things for yourself.
Something different that’s fun and exciting. “Treat Yo Self” as they say in Parks and Recreation. Get your hair or nails done. Go for a long hike. Take a short trip out of town for a change of scenery. Have a picnic at a park.
– Do something for someone else.
Volunteer, help your kids with their homework, take an old friend out to dinner, watch a football game with a friend.
I have found that I feel a lot better about going back to work on Monday if I made time to reorganize my life, treat myself, and do something nice for someone else over the weekend.
So if you’re looking for ideas on how to create a more fulfilling weekend so you can feel relaxed and accomplished when you start your work week, start making your list now and do it!
